May 30, 2005 at 10:25 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

This is funny, you can thank my grandmother for this:

Dad: No mon, no fun. -your son
Son: Too bad, so sad. -your dad

Good news!  Not to give you the impression that all I ever talk about is SDP stuff, however I’m really excited about this lastest news.

You can new hear whole SDP shows on our website!  www.geocities.com/nevillebasil  Click the link for Listen online.  down at the bottom you’ll see “whole shows”  we’ve only got two shows right now, but I’m hoping to provide more soon.

If you know of any way to get more then 20mbs storage space for webpages (for free), please let me know!!

I’m off to work now… Facility Staff here I come.  I won’t be back until much later tonight, perhaps midnight, if the prayer room is still open.

It’s starting to rain, which is a good thing, only because Dad seems to have hurt himself while building our deck.  He thinks he’s pulled a muscle in his leg.

TOMORROW!!  RADIO!  Our first show in months, very excited, God is so good to me to provide quality times of fellowship like these.

On a VERY random note, I keep wanting to still education, Edjucation.  Given the meaning of the work, this is very funny.  I’ve spelled it this way several times, not the least of which was on my resume sent to WAMU, the radio station. (I got the job, so I guess they didn’t notice, or someone corrected it.)

In other exciting news!  I may be getting a Mac iBook.  If so, this would greatly help my video editing attemps.  Very exciting!!  I’m afraid to say that I’ve been completely converted from being a staunch PC person, to an avid Mac user.  (not the editing program Avid, but the adjective)

The best think about Macs are that they accually work.  And they work the first time, without any keyboard pounding, or mouse throwing.  Very nice.

Over all a good time right now. much to get over with, and much to look forward to.

SDP Radio update from 2005

May 27, 2005 at 10:22 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

We’ve got our First SDP Radio show in nearly… well 2 months.  Its on Sunday at 3:00.  already half the people who said they could come, have said they can’t, which is the trouble with any type of planning.  However We’ve still got the essential people, and I’m hoping it’ll be a good show.

Speaking of SDP!  Our radio shows can now come on a CD!!  I’ve figured out a way to make our tapes digital!  I haven’t tested the whole burn the CD part, but I think that shouldn’t be too hard.

oh!  I hope God has this as his plan for my life, I don’t want to hold it too closely, but it sure would be fun!

I heard the funniest quote today, “he’s so heavenly-minded that he’s no earthly good.”  HAH!  Its great!  However I think it speaks of a series problem in some young men I know.  They’ve been given a magnicient education on the bible (as well as most academic subjects), however they all invarible end up attending Montgomery College (MK), and choosing majors with very little practical use!  (If you’re reading this and you have a Major with “very little pratical use”, please know I wasn’t thinking of you!)

However, I trust in God’s unstoppable plan, even through poor major choices.  It’s still a funny quote.

Just finished the previously mentioned Sherlock Holmes DVD collection, with the death of Sherlock Holmes.

I can reasonably say, that those stories are some of the most skillfully written works I’ve ever see.  It takes great talent, both by the author, and the actor, in instill in the audience so fond a connection with a character.  I’m afraid to say my heart is deeply saddened by loss of such an endearing character, played by such a skillful actor.

Note, nobody really died, and tomorrow I can go watch him die again,  however, I’m still very sad.  Even though this is very silly.  HAH!

More college class sign-uping tomorrow.  This may add to my emotional state.  Trying to trust God for all these things.

Remembering I had a Xanga

May 25, 2005 at 10:17 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

Well, I’m sorry to say, that I completely forgot I had an Xanga account.  This is really sad, but true.

I’ll try to update more often, however I’m really bad at these things.  I’ll probably need to keep up my journal more when I’m at college this fall.

In the latest news, I’ve discovered iTunes!  Yeah!  I’ve been using it for the past few months, but only last week, when Josh gave me a gift certificate for the music store have I discovered how much I love it.  I can easily see how it could become an addiction.

I must say that, by the grace of God, really hit the nail on the head with this whole Mother’s day thing.  I bought mom this Sherlock Holmes DVD series starring Jeremy Brett (her favorite actor to portray Holmes).  This DVD collection containes 5 disks each with 2-3 shows on it.  We’ve been watching one or two each night since, and having a wonderful time!

However tonight it’s LOST time.  I’m writing this as the rest of my family watches Lost, which, unlike me, they aren’t too afraid, confused, and frustrated to watch.

Perhaps I’ll go give it another try, eh?

Cya!
