Well friends, I’m sorry to say I’m losing a dear friend, and loyal twin.  It’s really hard to lose a twin, especially like that…  but it was hardly unexpected, I mean, I saw it coming for a while, I knew that one day, she wouldn’t be with us anymore, and that she’d be somewhere else, at the sametime, but I know she’s in a better place…  I know she’s finally found Liberty…

Sizer, I’ll be praying that God would bless your years at college, and that He would use you as a light in the darkness.  Well, knowning a little about Liberty, it’s more like a brighter light in the glowyness… but it still applies!

Those of you who are also heading off to college for the first time (or 2nd) I’ll also pray for you, but I don’t have time right now to post about it, because I’m supposed to be packing for a vacation.

We leave tomorrow, and come back on the 13th!

Lake George 2005

July 30, 2005 at 11:24 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

The Time has Come!  On Monday we’re off to lake George for 2 weeks!  yay!  Lots of prep to do… and its wonderful how this year, its really just creaped up on me.  Last year the buildup was almost unbearable, but this year it has rushed upon us.

Going to Lake George has always been mixed reaction in my mind.  We’ve always gone later in the summer and always started school a week after we get back, so in my childish mind Lake George was the last hurray before we plung back into the dreaded school year.

At the same time I love LG and always have loved going there, even if I do need to speak French to get myself to jump in the “refreashing” water.

The most dissapointing thing of this year’s visit is that I won’t be able to bring my laptop like I had thought I would be able to.  Which means no video post cards, Sorry!  I was really looking forward to editing some sorta video about what David and I were doing while we were up there.

I’ll have to see if perhaps I can bring another laptop… we”ll see…

Off to Polyurithane the inside!  cya!

(the inside of the boat, not the house.)

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So for my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you,

A pretty woman makes a husband look small,
something something else, Causes his downfall,
as soon as he marries her, then she’ll start,
to do the things that’ll break his heart,
But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You’ll be happy for the rest of your life,
An ugly woman cooks vittles on time, (?)
She’ll always give you a piece of her mind

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So for my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you,

Don’t let your friends say you have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway,
Though, her face is ugly, her eyes don’t match,
Take it from me, she’s a better catch,

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So for my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you,

Birthday Broadcast

July 25, 2005 at 11:22 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

Well, Sunday!  Yesterday!  What a day!  The Birthday Broadcast!

if you’re interested in hearing the show, you can download it off our website, at www.geocities.com/Silver_Dome_Productions  (Those spaces between the S_D_P are underscores)

It went very well, I am VERY happy with the results and how it went!

I hope no one would be insulted if I said that the most valuable addition of the day was Mike Hartnett.  His music changed the entire feel of an SDP production.  I found it refreashing and skillfully crafted around the mood of the scene.  What a skilled guy!

As for the “Most Amazing First-Timer” award, it goes to Andrew Gallo for being a stellar Minstrel!

David Galbraith wins the “Most Amazing Galbraith In the Show” award!

David S. – Ryder Davis Award?  I believe we can give that out in this context?

Chris Glass and John David win the “I Wish You Hadn’t Said That, But Thats the Best Line in the show!” award.  Chris for “The Baker who sells Bacon” and JD for “Justice must be done… Justice Will Happen…”  ::chuckles::

Mike Hartnett also wins the “Most violent SDP advertiser” with his scandelous advertisement “Go attach your family with a Defibulator” AKA “Mcgrudder’s Home Defibulator” (We didn’t actually keep it in the show, but its a fun memory.)

Lydia Hartnett wins the “World’s Best Chinese Hat Maker” award, and also “Most Heroic Old Wise-Women Ever To Break Into An Evil Count’s Castle”  simply because she is the one and only Lydia Hartnett

Jessica Tucker wins the “Best able to Understand what My Frantic gestures Vaguely in Her Direction Mean”  She was able to turn something that looked like an Buddhist Monk dancing a Somba into her great and unforgettable line “Stop, Stop, Stop!”.  congrats!

Casey Tiren wins the award for the ”Most Delightfully vain and uncaring Queen that ever Shaved her Head”  Wonderful job!  What can I say but that your work makes me laugh evertime I listen to it!

Sam Branchaw JD, and Bryce all win the “Thanks for Coming, but your part’s been cut due to time, so here do this tiny part that the mic will hardly pick up, do your best”  And they did!  Bryce stepped in and was a brilliant (if a tad type-cast) Butler, Sam’s part never changed, but he lost alot of air time when we cut off the extra-long end of the story, and JD graciously sat around most of the day because he was killed in the first scene and wasn’t playing music the rest of the time like I had planned.

Chris Glass wins the “Thanks so much for coming, and then leaving early right before your part comes up”  He had a prior commitment, and it still was great to see him again, and have him there!

Danny Mays wins the “Most Helpful” and “Most Evil” award for his roll as the evil Count.  Thank you so much Danny!

Justin Cowan Wins the “Great job sitting around ALL day monitoring our audio levels so we can listen to it clearly” Award.  The guy gave us his entire day, from right after church until nearly 8:00 in the evening, helping with everything, and mostly just sitting there listening.  Praise God for you!

James Maresco wins the award for the “Most Heroic Handsome Hero”.  He did a great job, and even though it sounded a tad over dramatic in the end, it was a stellar performance!

Thurgood Van Ivers and his assitant David Somerville win the award for “Best job narrating a story that he didn’t understand until a few minutes before we went on the air.”  Frankly I still don’t know if he understands it now!

If I’ve forgotten anyone please forgive me!  You win the award for “most often forgotten”

I just realized that the 4 regular “responcibility-holding” members of the SDP, their birthdays by month line up the the order they joined.  for example:

Jason  —- July              (Joined 1st)
Garrett — August          (Joined 2nd)
David —- September    (Joined 3rd)
Danny —- October       (Joined 4th)

Its also strange that its all the members birth months are right next to each other.

Now, you may be wondering why this would occur to me.  Well I was considering what would happen if we tried to do a smaller scale birthday broadcast-type show for every birthday in the SDP.  Well, now you see my delema.  It took 3 months to plan the first one, so coming up with one a month would be really hard.

Any thoughts on the idea?

Other Intriging facts:

David Smville, Jason C’ham, Gart Ricci all share the same number of Syllables.

David Smville and Jason C’ham both have 15 letters, however Garrett is one short, with only 14.

SDP is found in strange places:
S, D, and P obitals on the Periodic Table.

SDP in the News:
“While until this time the parties had been largely clubs grouped
around newspapers, they were now forced to develop election
organizations and extend their activities to the local level. As a
consequence of the strike, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) became a
mass movement. The Agrarian Union and the Swedish People’s Party were
founded in 1907. The Old Finns and the Young Finns remained, although
changes in the Russian policy obviously brought them closer together.”

As I find more I’ll start keeping a list.

I was thinking it would be fun to have a FAQs page on the website, and just make up some random Frequently asked questions.

Q: how big is Jason’s Nose?
A: Big enough.

Q: Why is John David called “Peach fuzz”?
A: Because of his stylish facial hair.

Q: Who is Janis?
A: Our secretary

etc. that type of thing… any thoughts on that?

Sorry, but I’m on an SDP buzz right now.  Must stop.

goodnight!

If I could Be…

July 21, 2005 at 11:19 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

It appears as though I’ve been tagged!  I’ve been tagged by Sam, but I think I also was tagged by Peter Schellhase, but I haven’t confirmed that yet…

“If I Could Be. . .

“Here’s the scoop on how to play: I pick 5 occupations out of the list below and post my answers. Then I tag 3 other people to post their answers on their blog. If I tag you, and you don’t want to be a part of this, then that is okay. Just let me know and I’ll tag someone else. Make sure you note who tagged you!

“The “questions”: If I could be a scientist…If I could be a farmer…If I could be a musician…If I could be a doctor…If I could be a painter…If I could be a gardener…If I could be a missionary…If I could be a chef…If I could be an architect…If I could be a linguist…If I could be a psychologist…If I could be a librarian…If I could be an athlete…If I could be a lawyer…If I could be an inn-keeper…If I could be a professor…If I could be a writer…If I could be a llama-rider…If I could be a bonnie pirate…If I could be an astronaut…If I could be a world famous blogger…If I could be a justice on any one court in the world…If I could be married to any current famous political figure….”

If I could be an architect… I’d love to work as in the area of historic preservation.  I LOVE historic Architecture and would love to help preserve it.  Also, I would love to help design movie sets, that would be great!  If you think of it, Movie sets are places where you get to have as much fun as you want because to have to make your full impression in just a few frames.  The Bigger the better!  Plus movies have cool settings.

If I could be a writer… I’d love to write radio dramas for kids to enjoy.  I sorta do this already, but to a larger extent would be wonderful!  To be able to do it for a career would be ideal!

If I could be a musician…  I’d compose music for radio programs that would delight people, and make them laugh, as well as enhance our shows!

If I could be a psychologist…  I’d reasearch what sounds would make kids laugh.

If I could be a lawyer…  I’d quit and become a radio producer…

There!  Done!  and what do I have to show for it?  Ok, I tag anyone who wants to fill out this quiz.  Provided you have time!

Cellphones and Respect

July 11, 2005 at 11:16 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

“It just makes me so nervous, there are so many loop-holes to jump through.” -mom about College Financial Aid Paperwork.  (she meant hoops)

I’ve decided I hate cell phones!! I DESPISE CELL PHONES!! Well, not MY cell phone, its yours I hate. But isn’t that the case with everyone? Nobody likes anyone else’s cell phone, just go to any movie theater, or church on Sunday and you’ll see what I mean.

However, I have a very good reason for hating cell phones.

Yesterday I was attending a birthday party for a dear friend of mine. Well, I was surprised that everyone there had a cell phone that was going off. Every few Seconds SOMEONEs cell phone was ringing. The room was crammed full of ringing purses, pockets, and pouches.

Well, this brings me to my point. Theres an old quote “Wherever you are, be all there”. Cell phones have ruined this, now nobody can simply attend a party and honor a friend on their birthday, they have a stay in touch with every other friend, just in case they need something, as well as let them know where they are. But thats no the worst part.

The worst part is when people start making plans for right after their current party ends. I’m going to have a NO PLAN-MAKING-WHILE-ATTENDING-MY-BIRTHDAY-PARTY rule. Whatever happend to just sitting and enjoying fellowship with a friend? Its been replaced with the desperate need to check the time and call ______ to see if he/she wants to go see XYZ at the movie theater after this party is over.

Now cell phones have some VERY useful and helpful uses, such as finding people at church, or calling for help when your car breaks down, or causing car accidents. But as a tool to ensure a constant flow of entertainment to people isn’t good.

Perhaps I’m being unfair to cell phones and their users (I do infact have a cell phone) but I’ve had too many quality times with friends interrupted by calls from people on the other side of the county.

I believe its really an issue of respect, I would like to respect the friend’s time who I’m looking at in front of me more then the one I can call back later.

Do I have a point?

Every day I wonder at how God is using my friends to challenge me, and bless me. Not that everything is about me, but I’m writing from my perspective! Praise God from them!

In other news, I found out today that my car needs a new $500 gas tank. drats! oh well, I’ll just not buy any books for school!
