Mike Huckabee

So, Nick T., a new friend, and fellow Senator, has talked me into going down to South Carolina this weekend to campaign for Mike Huckabee.

So Nick, Colin, a friend of Nick’s named Isaac, and myself will be jumping in the car on Friday afternoon and driving down to Columbia SC, to join the campaign.  I’ll be allot of fun – or so I hope.

Please pray that God would keep us all safe as we drive the 8 hours down and back, and that we wouldn’t encounter any problems.  Please pray that even though I will be tired at times that I would focus on my driving.  I’m excited for the opportunity to work for this campaign and celebrate with him at the party on Saturday night.

Gosh, these political science majors – always pushing me into new and exciting activities!

Until next time!

Mike Huckabee for President

January 11, 2008 at 4:02 pm (Ancient History from my Xanga)

Mike Huckabee for President…

Now friends, it is no big secret that I support Mike Huckabee for President.  However, what is a big secret is why.  Allow me to offer a few reasons why I support Mike, and why you should consider visiting www.mikehuckabee.com to consider him for yourself.  These are in no particular order.

1) He will unite our country.  He was Governor of Arkansas for 10 1/2 years, which is a predominantly democratic state.  His experience working WITH Democrats (not against) is consistent with the fundamental principles of working together for the greater good.  We don’t need a President who is combatant, who will antagonize opposing views, but rather, a President, like Mike, who will respectfully disagree, standing firm to his convictions, but express ample willingness to work together on other issues to find a solution that serve our best interests.

2) The President elect in 2008 will, most likely, be a Democrat.  All accounts are that democrats will win by a wide margin in this upcoming election.  Many experts are predicting this, and the polls, as well as the congressional elections, seem to illustrate that point.  I believe that the only candidate who stands a chance, is the more moderate Mike Huckabee.  You may ask, how is he in any way moderate?  Let me explain.  He is now famous for standing firm on issues that are truly important – like abortion.  However, he is not a fiscal conservative, and is willing to compromise with Democrats on issues of lesser importance.

The fact of the matter is, I’d rather have Mike Huckabee spending my tax dollars, than Hillary Clinton.

Since moderates won’t vote for a traditional Republican, we need a nontraditional republican candidate, like Huckabee, to be our nominee.  That’s our only chance.

Plus, Huckabee gives some awesome answers, like this:

And those are some of my thoughts.

Evolution Movie…

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in such a long time.  Things have been busy.

Oh, I have returned from school, ever so briefly, and will return from Christmas Break, on the 12th.

In the meantime, I though you would enjoy watching this trailing for a new movie coming out in February about Evolution.  It looks really good.  Plus, it stars Ben Stein.

Enjoy!

Did you know?

In the 1870s, Irish farmers faced an agricultural crisis that threatened to result in a repeat of the terrible famine and mass evictions of the 1840s. Anticipating financial ruin, they formed a Land League to campaign against the rent increases and evictions landlords were imposing as a result of the crisis. Retired British army captain Charles Boycott had the misfortune to be acting as an agent for an absentee landlord at the time, and when he tried to evict tenant farmers for refusing to pay their rent, he was ostracized by the League and community. His laborers and servants quit, and his crops began to rot.  Boycott’s fate was soon well known, and his name became a byword for that particular protest strategy.
